IREB - more professionalism in Requirements Engineering

IREB is an independent, non-profit organization. IREB emerged from a working group of the ASQF and was established in 2006 by leading RE representatives from science, research, industry and consulting with the vision to create an internationally accepted and professional basis for Requirements Engineering, and to improve RE and BA in practice.
With this in mind, IREB has established the Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE) certification concept.
Today IREB is a worldwide renowned body of experts for the individual certification of professionals in Requirements Engineering and Business Analysis; CPRE exams are taken around the world.

Requirements Engineering is a key discipline

It is IREB’s declared goal to foster further education in the field of Requirements Engineering.
Requirements Engineering as a first step in system development has a significant impact on the project success. It delineates the scope of a project and establishes the common basis for communication for all disciplines involved in the project. Requirements Engineering directly influences the project costs. The better the Requirements Engineering, the less expensive the errors that occur during development, thus decreasing overall costs.

Worldwide acceptance of the CPRE -
there are reasons why

First, the concept of the CPRE certification follows the DIN EN ISO/IEC 17024:2012 standard, which requires the strict separation of training and certification, thus avoiding conflicts of interest. This separation is decisive for the worldwide credibility and acceptance of the CPRE concept and certificate.
Secondly, the contents of the CPRE scheme are based on the expertise of a broadly-based and international group of RE specialists - always focusing on proven and highly practical methods.
Thirdly, IREB implemented the CPRE Glossary - easing the communication amongst professionals and business partners.
